The Monastery now has a food pantry in nearby Scranton, PA.

Since September, 2013, St. Tikhon's Monastery has been operating a small food pantry at 982 Robinson Street  in Scanton.  Staffed by voluneers, the pantry is open from 11:30am-1:00pm Wednesdays and Fridays in the building donated for the monastery's use.  20-40 indiviuals and famlies are served currently and over 60 turkeys were distributed between Thanksgiving and Nativity.

Future plans call for hot food and soup to be served on Saturdays and a reading/literature room will be set up in the back for spiritual nourshment.  St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary also hopes to be involved in this effort at some point in the future to help those in need.
