Participants in the conference were from the OCA and ROCOR. Archimandrite Sergius felt that PATRAM was a success: "It was a great success thanks to the work and prayers of so many people who hope and long to advance the art of Orthodox Liturgical Choral singing in America. People received a three-fold blessing: they were inspired, they saw and tasted the height of excellence for Orthodox Liturgical life, and they were taught and with some of the most influential and professional singers from here and abroad."
He further elaborated on the importance of the purpose of PATRAM itself: "The importance of Liturgical life is often over looked and neglected in American Orthodoxy and raising the bar and offering a concrete example of liturgical excellence was the imperative part of the institute. Grounding Church servants in the mind and tradition of the Church is essential as well as helping them to understand the centrality of Orthodox liturgical life as our very life, hope and optimal tool for evangelical outreach. We hope and pray with God's blessing to host this Institute again next year."
