The annual Divine Liturgy and Procession with the Cross took place on Sunday.

O Lord, save Your people, / And bless Your inheritance. / Grant victories to the Orthodox Christians / Over their adversaries. /  And by virtue of Your Cross, / Preserve Your habitation.
Troparion of the Holy Cross

The Feast of the Exalation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross was instituted on the day following the erection of the Church of the Resurrection in the year 335 AD during the reign of St. Constantine.  Two events are related to the Feast:  St. Helena's finding of the True Cross in 326 AD and the return of the Cross, stolen by the Persians, by Emperor Heraclius in 629 AD. 

Traditionally at the end of Liturgy there is a Procession with the Cross held high above the head of the pirest, prayers and blessing of those all gathered.
