The Feasts of September

Two major Feasts fall just after the beginning of the New Church Year

The Church's New Liturgical Year is September 1 and appropriately the first major Feast is the Nativity of the Theotokos without which all of the other events of the Year would not have been possible.

Following closely on the 14th is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.  So, within two weeks we commemorate the two events that began and completed our salvation in the New Covenant.
