The evangelization of Alaska

This week was the commemoration of the Synaxis of the Saints of Alaska...the first Orthodox mission to the New World. 

The icon shown depicts Sts. Herman, Juvenaly and Ioasaph coming ashored in 1794 on their ship from Russia.
