Fr. Archimandrite Athanasy reposed in the Lord at 11 a.m. this morning February 5th, 2016. Father's body will be in the Church from Saturday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon. A pannikhida before the funeral liturgy will be served on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. On Wednesday morning Metropolitan Tikhon will preside at the funeral liturgy with hours beginning at 9:10 a.m. The service for burial of a monastic will follow the Liturgy (approximately 11:30 a.m.) with the committal. All are welcome to break bread at a memorial luncheon following the services. May Fr. Athanasy's memory be eternal!

An icon of the Theotokos from nearby Taylor, PA, will be present at this year's pilgrimage for veneration.

On Tuesday, March 25th, newly consecrated Bishop David of Alaska visited the monastery and Seminary community. Returning to his monastic and spiritual home, Bishop David was warmly welcomed by the entire community. Metropolitan Herman celebrated 50 years of anniversary of ordination to the Holy priesthood and was congratulated by Bishop David and all present. Also in attendance was his Grace, Bishop Mark.

Today is the Feast of St. Nikolai of  Zhicha. While he was born and lived much of his life in Serbia, his work in America, including several years at St. Tikhon's Seminary, more than qualifies him to also be an 'American' saint.

On March 15th  Fr. Sergius gave a retreat following Vespers at the  Loudoun County Greek Orthodox Mission in Northern Virginia  He also offered the homily on Sunday morning.  The miraculous icon of St. Anna as available for veneration throughout the visit..

Metropolitan Tikhon led the Monastery Brotherhood during services during the  First Week of Lent.

On February 8th-11th, Fr. Zacharias (disciple of Fr. Sophrony of Essex) visited our monastery to give a series of public talks and blessed the monastic and community of the faithful with his hallowed presence. Quite possibly his last trip to America, Fr. Zacharias imparted words of life to the Brotherhood, Seminarians, and parish community. 

The eminent disciple of Fr. Sophrony is returning to St. Tikhon's on February 8th and 9th.

The Monastery now has a food pantry in nearby Scranton, PA.

As we begin the Nativity Fast, we ask forgiveness of one another and wish one and all a blessed preparation for the Nativity in the flesh of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Services were held on Monday evening at 7 pm and Tuesday morning at 10 am.

The Cemetery Mausoleum received a new cupola designed, made and placed by Michael Pasonick. The ceremony for the blessing of the new cupola took place on September 13th, 2013. Special thanks to Michael and Arlene Pasonick for making a dream into a reality.

On September 13th and 14th, Metropolitan Tikhon will serve for the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-giving Cross. Vladimir Gorbik will be directing these services of a combined Seminary and lay choir. After this, a newly formed professional choir under Vladimir Gorbik's direction (The Patriarch Tikhon Choir) will continue on to perform in  New York City, Pittsburgh,and Washington D.C. on September 16th, 17th and 18th. On St. Tikhon's Day, August 13th, several Millennial Members of the Monastery were awarded the Order of St. Tikhon of Moscow, a new award blessed by Metropolitan Tikhon to be given by the Monastery Brotherhood to persons who have especially helped the Monastery with their time, talent and resources.  Special thanks to all those who helped make St. Tikhon's Day a successful blessing for all! The Monastery Brotherhood invites one and all to the 109th annual pilgrimage to St. Tikhon's Monastery. The pilgrimage begins on Friday, May 24th at 4 p.m. and runs until May 27th at 6 p.m. Metropolitan Hilarion will serve with Metropolitan Tikhon for the Divine Liturgy on Memorial Day Monday.
